What is the standard number of bricks per cubic meter (m³)?

For standard Modular Bricks (190x90x90 mm), approximately 500 bricks are required per cubic meter, accounting for 10mm mortar joints. For traditional bricks (230x110x75 mm), the requirement is approximately 450-480 bricks.

How much cement and sand is needed for 1:6 mortar mix?

For a 1:6 mix (1 part cement, 6 parts sand), you typically require 1.25 bags of cement and 7.5 cubic feet (cft) of sand per cubic meter of brickwork. This assumes a standard mortar volume of 25-30%.

Does this calculator handle AAC Blocks?

Yes. By selecting "AAC Block" from the menu, the calculator adjusts the unit dimensions (600x200x200 mm) and applies specialized adhesive volume requirements instead of traditional sand-cement mortar.

Are openings like windows and doors deducted automatically?

Yes. You can add specific opening areas (in square meters) for each wall segment. The calculator deducts these areas before calculating the final volume to ensure accuracy.

What is the difference between 4.5" and 9" walls in calculation?

A 9" wall (230mm) is a "Full Brick" wall, while a 4.5" wall (115mm) is a "Half Brick" wall. The calculator uses these thicknesses to determine volume. Note that half-brick walls often require more careful alignment and slightly more mortar per unit area.

Should I add wastage for breakage?
